A very simple recipe but so so good. I added a little cajun spice and garlic powder to my cream while it cooked to give it a little kick. DELICIOUS!!!

This recipes is easy and excellant. If you want to tone it down a bit instead of the tasso ham, I use bacon or prosciutto. Paula Deen keeps it simple by using less ingredients. Wonderful!

This entree' was served at my family's annual Christmas breakfast and was absolutely fabulous. I called later to ask for the recipe and was told that it was a Paula Deen recipe and available on line. So here I am... continuing this recipe. Absolutely loved it. I often wondered if the food on the show was as good as it looked and I can attest that this one does!!!

I used polenta instead of grits. (grits aren't available in Sweden) It made the dish totally different, however was very tasty. Nice for a change. The polenta is a smoother texture. Try it!

Easy, fast, and tasty!

My family really likes grits and ate up this dish. I spiced it up a bit by using a few jalapeno slices rather than bell pepper.

Best shrimp and grits ever. I used a spicey ham since I couldn't find the tasso ham. It was wonderful. I also "doctored" up the grits a bit with a little cheese and butter and lots of salt and pepper. It was excellent and I will definitely make it again.

The best and easiest ever

This is a great recipe and was my first attempt at making shrimp and grits. I've since made it several times for guests and the dish got rave reviews! I've also used the shrimp dish over pasta.

I could have made this better

Paula Deens Shrimp and Grits goes down as smooth as southern silk. That is if the south grew silk. If you yanks thought you were to good for GRITS this would change your mind in a New York minute!!! The white wine cream sauce gives it a gormet taste while the grits itself gives it hometown taste. Yum!!! eat up you won't regret it!!

I just got back from a visit to Savannah, and with all the wonderful food there I just didn't have time to try the shrimp and grits. I made this recipe and loved it. Who would have thought that the two things would go together so well?

One of the best things I've ever eaten

I agree with below poster that tails did get in the way, however the taste was so delicious that we didn't give them a second thought. Highly recommended!

I couldn't find the spicy ham, so I substituted prosciutto and a (healthy) dash of cayenne pepper. It was phenomenal. the tails were a bit annoying, but not nearly enough to distract from this delicious recipe. Thanks Paula!
